The Beauty Obsession of The Decade

You guessed it, eyebrows.  If your eyebrows have managed to redeem themselves after the the over-plucking phase we’ve all somehow gone through at some point in our lives, consider yourself lucky. Some of us have not bounced back so easily. In fact, eyebrow innovations have swept the market and have included growth serums, volumizing brow mascaras, microblading, and even DIY methods for those of us craving to be in on the full, luscious brow trend.

While some of us may call these innovations our saving grace, they can be time consuming and hard on our wallets. So we found something comparable that you may already be using on a daily basis.

The All-Natural Alternative

Many people don’t realize that our Cleansing Oil features a multi-functional ingredient that often doesn’t get its due: Castor Oil.  In terms of skincare, castor oil heals inflamed skin due to its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, fades blemishes, improves skin texture by softening and smoothing out imperfections and the fatty acids in castor oil can also promote the growth of healthy skin tissue, making it helpful in restoring uneven skin tones.  If all that wasn’t enough, castor oil is also used to promote hair growth. Known to be super high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids, the oil helps to nourish and moisturize hair follicles while also triggering hair growth from dormant follicles.

Promoting Hair Growth

But what does hair growth have to do with your face care routine? Arguably, next to your skin itself, a very important feature to most of us ladies, are our eyebrows.  The thicker, fuller, eyebrow trend is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon and besides, no matter how you like to shape your eyebrows, it’s always nice to have more hair to be able to work with to achieve the desired look.  Where does the Cleansing Oil come in? Well, it’s probably not enough to just cleanse with the oil to achieve any kind of hair growth benefit from the castor oil. A great pro-tip is after you’ve cleaned your face for the night, apply our cleansing oil to your eyebrows (I do this with a Q-tip) and leave on overnight.  Do this for several weeks before seeing a noticeable result.

The Routine

I am a huge advocate for the Korean Beauty double cleanse ritual. With my combination-oily skin, I remove my makeup with oils and wipe away with a warm washcloth. I then further cleanse with a gentle cleanser like Mantra, which really helps rid my skin of any excess sebum while also removing my makeup and keeping my skin balanced, because we all know how hard it is to achieve that not-too-dry and not-too-oily combination.

For me, this is how I keep my eyebrows healthy, strong, full and thick while also making sure my skin is soft, glowing and nourished.  Read more about Double Cleansing on our Kbeauy blog here.

However you cleanse your face at night, applying castor oil, especially in an already nutritive blend of oils such as our Cleansing Oil product, is a natural beauty trick that you’ll be sure to love the results of!
